Role: Webmaster
Official website for Southern Connecticut State University.
I serve as webmaster for the Southern Connecticut State University website from 2005-2007, and again from 2013 to present. The university website has been through many iterations from a simple Adobe Dreamweaver website, to using a Gravity Switch’s content management system (CMS), to OU Campus (currently Modern Campus), to its current iteration in Drupal.
Typical Duties
- Consult with university departments and offices regarding their web and marketing needs.
- Build, update, and delete pages.
- Review web requests and either perform updates or re-assign them.
- Design and develop customized web forms.
- Manage overall site organization.
- Create accounts and train users.
- Enforce content and quality standards.
- Analyze the website’s performance. Track web traffic using analytics tools. Provide analytics reports to departments.
- Meet with a team regularly to discuss CMS version updates, new features, and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage content migrations over the previous website iterations.
- Write documentation on how to perform various web tasks.
In addition to my typical duties, I also train student programmers, build internal applications for students, and assist faculty and staff in finding technology solutions for web and video.
